Papadopoulos Viticulture: Reviving the Historic Vineyards of Rapsani

Papadopoulos Viticulture is a family-run winery in Rapsani PDO, one of Greece's most historic wine regions, located on the slopes of Mount Olympus. Founded in 2015 by brothers Dimitris and Nikos Papadopoulos, the winery is dedicated to restoring old vineyard parcels and showcasing the unique character of Rapsani through minimal intervention winemaking.

Working with the region's traditional blend of Xinomavro, Krassato, and Stavroto, the brothers farm old vines that benefit from mountain altitudes, diverse soils, and cooling breezes from the Aegean Sea. These conditions create wines with freshness, structure, and a distinctive sense of place.

In the cellar, spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, minimal sulphur, and a hands-off approach allow the vineyards to speak for themselves. The result is a collection of vibrant, terroir-driven wines that express both the heritage of Rapsani and the evolving landscape of Greek natural wine.

The project is supported by experienced local growers whose families have farmed these vineyards for generations, helping preserve the traditions and viticultural heritage of Mount Olympus.
